Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 2025

🔒

Your privacy is important to us. The short version: everything stays on your device. We never collect or transmit your credentials.

1

Information We Collect

GitSwitcher is a local-first macOS application. All data — including SSH keys, Git user configurations, and profile settings — is stored exclusively on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any personal information or credentials.

2

SSH Keys & Credentials

SSH private and public keys generated within GitSwitcher are stored in your local macOS file system (typically under ~/.ssh/). They are never sent to any remote server, cloud service, or third party.

3

Analytics & Crash Reporting

GitSwitcher does not include any analytics SDKs or crash-reporting tools that collect personal data. Any crash diagnostics are handled by macOS and are subject to Apple's privacy policy.

4

Third-Party Services

GitSwitcher does not integrate with any third-party cloud services. The app communicates only with the Git hosts you configure (e.g. GitHub, GitLab) using the SSH keys you have explicitly set up.

5

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally, you can delete your profiles, SSH keys, and configurations at any time from within the app or by removing the relevant files from your file system. Uninstalling GitSwitcher removes the application; any SSH keys you created should be removed manually if desired.

6

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of GitSwitcher after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
